DSL High Speed Internet
Tired of slow dial-up speeds? With Eastern Oregon Telecom’s DSL high speed Internet service you can receive high speed Internet service at speeds far greater than dial-up. Our DSL Internet service doesn’t tie up a phone line, so you can still make and receive calls while online.
How it works
DSL, Digital Subscriber Line, is a technology used to deliver faster Internet connections over existing telephone lines. From our Central Office a digital signal is placed over your existing telephone line to your location, from a DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) Each customer has a dedicated connection to the DSLAM, allowing customers to receive the fastest possible connection speed. At your location a DSL Modem receives this digital signal and allows your computer, or network, access to the Internet. Also, filters are installed at each telephone device at your location. These filters are what allow you to use the telephone and be on the Internet at the same time.
