Call Forwarding:
How it works: All incoming calls are directed towards (forwarded to) a specified number. Each time a call is forwarded, your phone will make one short ring. Your phone can still be used to make outgoing calls.
To activate Call Forwarding:
1. Lift your handset and listen for dial tone.
2. Dial * 7 2 (on a rotary dial, dial 1172)
3. Listen for dial tone.
4. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.
5. Press #, (or wait 4 seconds) listen for three beeps.
6. Hang up.
To turn off Call Forwarding:
1. Dial * 7 3, hang up after three beeps.
Call Forwarding Busy Line:
How it works: This feature works like Fixed Call Forwarding (above) but only forwards incoming calls when you're on your line and the phone is busy.
To activate Call Forwarding Busy Line:
1. Lift your handset and listen for dial tone.
2. Dial * 9 0, listen for three beeps, and another dial tone.
3. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.
4. Press # , (or wait 4 seconds), then listen for three beeps and hang up.
To turn off Call Forwarding Busy Line:
1. Dial * 9 1, listen for three beeps, and hang up.
Call Forwarding Don't Answer:
How it works: You can forward your calls when your number does not answer within a specified period of time or number of rings.
To activate Call Forwarding Don't Answer:
1. Lift your handset and listen for dial tone.
2. Dial * 9 2, listen for three beeps, and another dial tone.
3. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.
4. Press # (or wait 4 seconds), then listen for three beeps and hang up.
To turn off Call Forwarding Don't Answer:
1. Dial * 9 3, listen for three beeps, and hang up.
Selective Call Forwarding:
How it works: You can forward your calls and choose only specified numbers to forward with Selective Call Forwarding. It works like Call Forwarding, except you have more control over what calls are actually forwarded. Other calls not being forwarded can still be received.
To activate Selective Call Forwarding:
1. Lift the handset and dial * 6 3.
2. Listen to the voice instructions which will prompt you on how to use.
Remote Access Call Forwarding:
How it works: You can activate and deactivate your assigned Call Forwarding features from a remote location.
To activate Remote Access Call Forwarding:
1. From a remote location, dial a seven or ten digit number supplied by EOT.
2. Listen for recall dial tone or for instructions to enter the directory number of your base station (your base station is the number where the calls are being forwarded from)
3. Dial your base station's number.
4. Listen for recall dial tone or for instructions to enter your personal Identification Number (PIN), then enter that number
5. If your home and PIN number match, you will hear a confirmation tone followed by dial tone.
6. Dial * 7 2, and enter the number where you want your calls forwarded.
7. You may hear a confirmation tone, or stay on the line if someone answers to advise them your calls are being forwarded.
Call Waiting w/cancel:
How it works: If your talking on the phone, you'll hear a tone (or click) alerting you of another call. You can also cancel the feature when you don't want to be interrupted for one call, or while you're on the Internet.
To activate Call Waiting w/cancel:
1. When you're on the phone, if your hear a tone (or click) just depress your handset, or press the flash button.
2. You can alternate between calls, by depressing the handset, or pressing the flash button.
To cancel Call Waiting:
1. Before making the call, dial * 7 0, listen for three beeps, then dial tone.
2. Dial the number. The Call Waiting feature will be back on the line when you hang up from that call.
Priority Call (Distinctive Ringing and Call Waiting tone):
How it works: You can program your phone to ring with a special ringing pattern (a short-long-short ring) when you are called from a “select” list of phone numbers. If you have Call Waiting, you will hear a special Call Waiting tone when they call. All other calls will ring normally.
To activate Priority Call (Distinctive Ringing/Call Waiting)
1. Lift handset and dial * 6 1. You will hear instructions guiding you to activate the service.
Speed Calling 8:
How it works: You can store up to eight numbers and quickly dial them just by dialing one number.
To activate Speed Dialing 8
1. Lift handset and listen for dial tone.
2. Dial * 7 4, listen for three beeps, and a steady dial tone.
3. Enter a speed calling code (2 – 9 )
4. Dial the number you wish to assign that code to, then press #.
5. Listen for three beeps, and hang up.
Speed Calling 30:
How it works: You can store up to thirty numbers and quickly dial them just by dialing two digits.
To activate Speed Calling 30:
1. Lift handset and listen for dial tone
2. Dial * 7 5, listen for three beeps, and a steady dial tone.
3. Enter a speed calling code (20 - 49 )
4. Dial the number you wish to assign that code to, then press #.
5. Listen for three beeps, and hang up.
Three Way Calling:
How it works: You can add a third party to your conversation, and speak with the other two parties like as a conference call.
To activate Three Way Calling:
1. Place the first call on hold, by depressing the handset.
2. Wait for dial tone, and make the second call.
3. After the second person answers, depress the handset to connect the first party.
4. Both calls will end when you hang up.
Last Call Return:
How it works: You can automatically dial your last caller. If the line is busy, this feature will continue to call the number and ring you back when the line is free.
To activate Last Call Return:
1. After the call, press * 6 9.
2. Listen for an announcement.
3. If you wish to return the call, press 1, if you do not wish to return the call, hang up.
4. If the line is busy, the number will ring back with a short-long-short ring.
To deactivate Last Call Return:
1. Lift the handset and dial * 8 9.
2. Listen for a confirmation tone then hang up.
Continuous Redial (Repeat Dialing):
How it works: You can redial a busy number. Your call will automatically be redialed up to 30 minutes. It will ring you back with a short-short-long ring when the line is free, connecting you to the call. You can make other outgoing calls during this time.
To activate Continuous Redial:
1. Hang up, then lift the handset and press * 6 6.
2. Listen for three beeps, or an announcement telling you that the number is busy.
3. If the line is not busy, listen for ringing.
4. Your call will be automatically made when you pick up the handset.
To deactivate Continuous Redial:
1. Press * 8 6, and listen for tone or announcement.
Custom Ring (Second Number/Same Line):
How it works: You can have more than one number on your line. Your Second number will ring with a special ring, so you'll know which number is ringing.
Caller ID Blocking:
How it works: You can restrict your number from being displayed on someone else's Caller ID when placing a call. There is no extra charge for this feature.
To activate Call Identification Blocking:
1. Dial * 6 7 before making a call.
To have your line blocked automatically for all calls:
1. Notify EOT to “block” your number from showing on Caller ID.
2. To remove the block for just one call, dial * 8 2 before placing that call.
Caller ID (Name and number):
How it works: You'll be able to see the number/name of the calling party. In some cases, it will indicate the number/name is unavailable or private.
To activate Caller ID
1. You must have a Caller ID display device on or near your phone for this feature to work
2. When you get a call, the name and number will be displayed on the screen.
Caller ID w/Call Waiting
How it works: This feature delivers the calling party's information (name and number) during a current active call, via a customer supplied Caller ID box or Caller ID telephone, assuming the calling party doesn't have Call Identification Blocking
Customer Originated Call Trace:
How it works: You can request an automatic trace of the last incoming call. This provides a way to trace obscene, threatening, or harassing calls.
To activate Customer Originated Call Trace:
1. After receiving an annoying call, hang up, and press * 5 7.
2. You will hear a tone or an announcement.
3. You will not be given the name or number of the caller at that time.
4. Keep track of the date and time of the offensive call.
5. Contact your local police and EOT for further assistance.
Anonymous Call Rejection:
How it works: You can reject callers from calling you if their number comes up as “private” on your Caller ID display. (they have Caller Identification Blocking on their line). The callers will get a polite message stating that you do not accept calls from “blocked numbers”. They can then unblock their number, if they wish.
To activate Anonymous Call Rejection:
1. Lift the handset, listen for dial tone and press * 7 7.
2. After hearing a confirmation tone, hang up.
To deactivate Anonymous Call Rejection:
1. Press * 8 7, listen for a confirmation tone, or an announcement, then hang up.
Selective Call Rejection:
How it works: You can reject specified incoming calls from a list with this feature. Those callers will hear a message that you're not accepting calls at this time, callers not your list will ring as normal.
To activate Selective Call Rejection:
1. Lift the handset, listen for dial tone, and press * 6 0.
2. Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is on or off.
3. Listen to the voice instructions, which will guide you in using the service.
Selective Call Acceptance:
How it works: You can accept calls from a specified list with Selective Call Acceptance; receiving only calls from persons you designate you want to speak with. All other callers will hear recording that you're not accepting calls at this time. You can still make outgoing calls while this feature is activated.
To activate Call Acceptance:
1. Lift the handset, and press * 6 4.
2. Listen for the voice instructions which will guide you through the steps to use the service.
Wake Up Service
How it works: You can get a wake up reminder from you phone, or a reminder of a special meeting or appointment. Information must be entered daily.
To activate Wake Up Service:
1. Lift the handset and dial # 7 6 (on rotary phone dial 1176).
2. After receiving a second dial tone, dial a time when the wake up call is desired. (must be in a 24 hr. format: example: 6:30 is 1830)
3. To cancel press # 7 7.
Do Not Disturb:
How it works: Your incoming calls will hear a polite message that you're not receiving calls at this time. You can give a Pin number out to override the feature, letting only important calls come through.
To activate Do Not Disturb:
1. Press * 7 8, listen for three beeps, and hang up.
To deactivate Do Not Disturb:
1. Press * 7 9, and listen for three beeps.
Home Intercom:
How it works: You can establish a talking path between extensions on a single telephone line. Just dial the telephone number of the line you are using and hang up. A distinctive ringing pattern will identify the call as an Intercom call.
Regular Multi Line Hunting:
How it works: Provides for a sequential hunt over a group of numbers if the first line is busy, until the end of the hunt list is reached. The call “hunts” for a free line. This feature is programmed in the EOT Central Office.
Circular Hunting:
How it works: This feature works exactly like Multi-line hunting, except the “hunting” proceeds from the final number of the hunt group to “wrap around” to the first member of the hunt list.
Voice Mail:
How it works: You can access the Voice Mail system from any touch tone phone, and customize your greeting/announcement, get messages, play messages, or delete messages at any time. The Voice Mail system will easily walk you through all steps to use. Each message gives a time/date stamp.
How To Get Started:
The first time you use your EOT voce mail, you will need to complete the voce mail tutorial. Access the tutorial from your home/business phone that has EOT voicemail activated on it.
- Dial the EOT voce mail number 289-4000 (the voicemail system will recognize the number you are calling from)
- Enter 7777 (default pass code for accessing the tutorial)
- Follow the tutorial steps to set up your own pass code, recorded name, and personal greeting for your callers.
When you have completed the tutorial and the main setup above, you can access your voice mailbox.

Accessing Your Mailbox From Your Phone:
- Dial the EOT voicemail number 289-4000
- Enter your pass code and follow prompts
Accessing Your Mailbox From Another Phone Or Location:
- Dial the EOT voicemail number 289-4000
- Enter your mailbox number (your home or business telephone number)
- Press * to interrupt your greeting
- Enter your pass code and follow prompts
