What will my first bill will look like?
All local telephone companies bill in advance for local service. Your EOT bill could reflect a payment due for up to 66 days of services, depending on what time of the billing cycle you started service. It may also include one time fees, such as hook-up fees and any installation charges. Your bill will also include various required taxes and surcharges.
Can I keep my same telephone number?
Yes. Any local prefix, 567, 564, 276, and 278 to name a few, can be ported to Eastern Oregon Telecom. This process is handled during your switch over to EOT service. When a calling party calls your number it will be directed to EOT, which will then ring at your house, on EOT service.
Can I keep my same long distance provider?
Yes. You can keep your same long distance provider or use EOT Long Distance. If you decide not to continue using your old long distance provider you must notify them once you have been switched to EOT service.
When will my bill be due?
The 15th of every month. All EOT bills are due on the 15th of every month. You should receive your bill approximately 2 weeks before the due date.
What do I do if I have received a harassing call?
After receiving a harassing, threatening, or obscene call, hang up. Then, pick up and dial * 5 7 You will not be told the number of the harassing caller, but a report will be generated regarding the harassing call. Keep track of the date and time of the offensive call. Contact your local police department and EOT for further assistance.
What are all the taxes and surcharges on my bill for?
Taxes and surcharges are applied to all access lines. These charges are applied per guidelines by the OPUC (Oregon Public Utility Commision) the FCC, and local, state, or federal taxing agencies. Some companies choose to set their rates above the required amount. EOT charges the minimum rate established by these agencies.
Can I have my bill paid automatically?
Yes. You can have your EOT bill paid automatically from your checking or savings account (ACH) each month.
What form of payment is accepted?
Cash, Check, Credit (Visa/Mastercard logo), or Debit. You can pay in the office with any of the mentioned forms of payment. You can also pay via Credit or Debit (Visa/Mastercard logo) over the phone during business hours.
